Hungerford Household

Testimonials from previous Hungerford Household events

The Hungerford Household aren’t people who dress up like Tudors: they are Tudors! This group of re-enactors coupled with the authentic ambiance of Acton Court, created an event akin to time travel. The Household members were courteous, entertaining and informative. Everybody enjoyed the weekend: we have nothing but praise for Hungerford Household. Lisa Kopper, Acton Court, Iron Acton, Bristol

Thanks again for the marvellous day you provided at the Red House Museum. It was a great day and everyone who visited really seemed to enjoy it. Thanks to you and your team for putting on such a professional, fun-packed day! Paul Willis, Red House Museum, Christchurch, Dorset

Thank you for contributing to such a successful day at Tudor House. We had over 1,100 visitors – many more than we anticipated. You provided excellent entertainment – I was impressed by the variety of crafts and skills that you demonstrated and how well you all engaged with our visitors – of all ages and at all levels. The music and dancing especially brought the whole building to life. We had nothing but positive feedback from our visitors and I do hope that you will be able to return next year. Karen Wardley, The Tudor House, Southampton

Thanks to Hungerford Household for really bringing the Tudor period to life. The range of activities, costumes and artefacts provided a rich variety of attractions which was appreciated by both staff and visitors. The team's enthusiam for and knowledge of the period really enhanced our Tudor exhibition. We will certainly be asking you back! Jenny Stevens, Curator, Andover Museum

Hungerford Household have been coming to Winchester City Mill annually since 2004. They give our visitors an enjoyable and intriguing insight into everyday Tudor life. They are very good at engaging with the public and both grown-ups and children alike are fascinated by the stories they have to tell. We look forward to their next visit to the Mill. Anne Aldridge, National Trust, Winchester City Mill

We felt the Tudor weekend at The Vyne was very successful. It was obvious from watching people interact with the Hungerford Household members, and from feedback, that the event was thoroughly enjoyed by visitors to The Vyne. The group were well organised and the set-up and clearing away went smoothly. We look forward to seeing you here again in 2009! Carolyn Aldridge, House Manager, National Trust, The Vyne, Basingstoke

Thank you so much for a wonderful event at Salisbury Museum. I do hope we will be able to welcome you back in the not too distant future. Laura Bullivant , Education and Outreach Officer
